Volunteer Opportunities
Anyone interested in volunteering must attend one of our in-person orientations, which are held on the second Wednesday of the month at 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. No registration required, just show up to our building located at 22 Kersey Road in Peace Dale. Extra parking is available in the Lilly Pads parking lot across the street from the Welcome House.

Jonnycake Market (food pantry)
Market Associate
Greet customers, pack groceries, restock shelves, and promote a positive, welcoming atmosphere for our guests.
Delivery Driver
Drive groceries from the Jonnycake Center to our homebound members’ in the community.
Market Stocker
Sort and stock RI Food Bank and large community donations on days the Market is closed.
VITA Volunteer
Tax Preparer
Become a certified tax preparer and help file low-to-moderate income households’ taxes for free.
Jonnycake Youth Center
Youth Activity Leader
Bring a skill to the JYC to teach such as sewing, painting, woodworking, etc.
Youth Center Assistant
Assist the JYC director with supervision of youth participants throughout the building, organize materials and spaces, and help where there is a need.
Academic Coach
Be an academic tutor and help kids organize and stay current with their schoolwork.
Fundraising
Bulk Mailings
Assist with appeals and other large mailings.
Event Helper
Work with our event committee to help plan, organize, and execute fundraising events.
