BECOME A JONNYCAKE MEMBER
We serve residents of South Kingstown, Narragansett, Jamestown, and Block Island. You do not need to show us proof of income or immigration status. Visit our offices during our Market hours and please bring the following:
- Proof of residency (utility bill or lease)
- Identification for you and/or your spouse (driver’s license, military ID, passport)
- Proof of dependents under 18 (birth certificates, SNAP or school meal letter)
MEMBER BENEFITS
As a Jonnycake member, you have access to the following programs and services.
JONNYCAKE MARKET
Includes shopping twice a month for your household, as well as school vacation meals and weekly summer produce distribution.
HOUSING ASSISTANCE
We offer service-enriched housing, housing application, and help with security deposits and overdue rent payments.
YOUTH ENRICHMENT
Coming soon.
The Jonnycake Youth Center will open this fall. Youth will have access to academic support, enrichment opportunities, as well as mentors and postsecondary and career planning.
NUTRITION EDUCATION
Our Food is Medicine class for people with chronic health conditions provides cooking demonstrations, education, and support. In addition, WIC is available to local residents through Wood River Health two days each month.
ECONOMIC SECURITY
We host a free tax clinic, provide emergency financial assistance for housing, utilities, and transportation, and can help navigate government benefits like SNAP and cash assistance.
COMMUNITY HEALTH
Our Community Health Workers are experts in navigating resources, government assistance, and providing one-on-one support to individuals and families, helping to move them from crisis to stability.
